Mike Baer

Over the past 30 years, Business as Mission has become a clear, modern movement of God in the world. What began as a small, localized effort to reach people with the Gospel through business has become a worldwide phenomenon. BAM exists literally in every nation. Many Christians in Eastern Europe have embraced BAM and is poised to be a true center of and have a major impact on the movement. Longtime BAM pioneer and speaker, Mike Baer, will challenge us to fully engage in this amazing opportunity and how we can do so.

Mike will lead the roundtable discussion on the topic: The pastor and the business person.
Pastors often struggle to effectively engage and equip the business people in their congregation. Michael Baer, former pastor and now senior executive in business, writes to challenge and encourage church leaders in the why, how and what of developing Kingdom minded disciples for the marketplace.

The Entrepreneur and the Investor
Entrepreneurs and small businesses often struggle to connect with investors. Even when they do connect, there is often a gap between the diligence the investor is looking for and what the business leader can provide.
This can often lead to little or no results in terms of raising capital, and frustration for both sides. In the Business-as-Mission world there are added challenges as investors are looking beyond just profitability to expect
spiritual and social impact as well.

Drawing from 9+ years working with The Lion’s Den competition, this roundtable will focus on the real-world questions that investors are asking, what elements they are looking for in a business, and how entrepreneurs
in the developing world can prepare to make effective pitches.
